After a passionate speech by former local Warrender head teacher Frank Long and representations from Cllr Mike Cox the local Tories (including the Manor Tory Cllr) ignored concerns about density, extra shops, lack of amenity space and bad design to pass the plans for the old job centre.

Mike Cox, backed local residents demanding a lower height, the retention of popular local trees and the local businesses who did not see the need for more shops

Mike Cox has called for a more sensitive plan which will add benefits for the local community in Ruislip Manor. Meanwhile the classic "Metroline" architecture of the Windmill Pub seems condemned to be another "faceless" block of flats.
