After months of expensive work on the new lights at the Ruislip Manor crossroads, Ken Livingston's TFL engineers have got it wrong! And their error could be fatal! Thanks to a call from an observant Manor Lib-Dem member who thought something was wrong, Mike Gettleson went and investigated.
Mike show both lights facing the same way. So the white van which is turning can't see any lights!
Sure enough, after thousands being spent, and the new cables being installed under the pavement, Mike saw that half the lights (4 sets out of 8) are facing the wrong way! This means that drivers turning right from any direction cannot see ANY lights and thus don't know when it's clear to turn. This could be an accident waiting to happen. It will cost yet more of tax payers' money for this major error to be urgently corrected.
Latest Update - Late March
Thanks to the Lib-Dem call to the Council (who said 'it's not our responsibility'), after two weeks Ken's TFL traffic engineers have finally come and turned round the 4 incorrectly facing lights. So the Manor lights are no longer a serious danger to traffic.
