Mike Cox has slammed Hillingdon Council for its continued detention of Steven Neary

Mike Cox said:

"When I first read about Steven's case I was appalled and dismayed that Hillingdon Council could act with such little decency. What makes me angry is Steven and his father Mark are still, after all these months, the victims of this outrageous disregard for their basic Human Rights and it still hasn't been put right.

It looks very much to me as though Steven is being detained in a bid to save the Council money and offload the costs onto another government agency.

Steven is suffering from stress which, given his autistic condition, is amplified by being away from home. I call on Hillingdon's senior directors and cabinet members to show some human compassion and step in now to urgently reunite Steven with his father to resolve this dreadful situation."
