Tescos are planning a massive superstore in the heart of Yiewsley that will kill off the local traders, cause massive congestion and and will condemn the local community to low grade employment and high density housing.
A local community group called the Yiewsley Community Involvement Group are fighting back with a well argued and researched case against the giant superstore.
Cllr Mike Cox leader of the Lib Dem Group on the council said
"This is a David and Goliath struggle which sees the country's most ruthless planning conglomerate pitted against an alliance of local traders led by Gay Brown the Chair of the Otterfield Residents Association. The fact that Hillingdon Councils officers approved the plans cutting the consultation time to a minimum and failing to get even the most basic report completed just beggers belief.
The development should be thrown out and a sustainable plan for Yiewsley based on local business and commerce as well as decent homes must be put in its place"
