After nearly 2 years of battling the local residents of Herlwyn Ave have won the latest round in the fight to restore a bungalow which has been turned into an eyesore.

A massive extension was built on the small bungalow nearly doubling its size without requesting any planning permission at all.

After winning 3 appeals at the planning inspectorate in Bristol local residents were faced with a new plan to limit the extension slightly which had controversially also received Hillingdon Council officers approval.

A new petition of 163 was raised in the surrounding roads. Local resident David Galvin spoke at the committee on behalf of petitioners and said

"This is a tremendous victory for common sense and local action. Local residents now want the property restored to it former state. This is a very pleasant estate and this building has been an eyesore too long."

Cllr Mike Cox who attended and spoke at the meeting on behalf of local residents commented

"To overturn an officers recommendation is a significant achievement by local residents. Well done to all those involved. The important thing now is to ensure that proper processes are followed, that the extension is removed and the bungalow is restored."
