No Third Runway

The Liberal Democrats have a long history of strong opposition to building a third runway at Heathrow Airport.

The Labour party can't seem to make their mind up, with Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls said to be offering strong support to the idea of expansion.

Meanwhile, the Conservatives are all over the place on the issue. Locally, they have already made it clear that they would rather see Heathrow close entirely, costing the community thousands of local jobs. Boris Johnson even visited Hillingdon last year to set out priorities for a future without Heathrow in its current form.

We believe in getting the balance right. We support Heathrow in what it does in providing local jobs and supporting business. However, we want to see a Heathrow that works for local people, not an ever expanding airport that damages local environment and continues to worsen the air pollution situation.
