Our party's autumn federal conference is being held this year in Bournemouth from 19th to 23rd September.
Each local party has a number of "conference reps" but in fact any member is entitled to register and attend. Unfortunately it's quite expensive - plus the cost of accommodation and travel - but there are special rates for first time attendees. See here for more information. Note prices go up after 31st July
On the Saturday before Conference, Hillingdon members gather to look at the debates being planned and to talk about the issues raised. It helps to inform those who will be there, and allows more people to take part. What will your view be on the big issues?
So please join us on Saturday 12th Sept from 10am at the Christ Church, Redford Way, Uxbridge, just across the road from Uxbridge's bus and tube station.
There is no charge for this event. There is a little tea bar run by the church where refreshments can be purchased at very reasonable prices during the break.
Let's get our fightback in Hillingdon going now.
Join fellow Lib Dems in Hillingdon for a drink and a chat in the Three Tuns, Uxbridge.
What are the big issues facing Hillingdon residents? How is Ray Puddifoot and the Tory Council he leads managing to hide the inevitable cuts - who's losing out? How can we get out there and meet more residents and hear what they think?
Come along and let's decide how to get the #libdemfightback going in Hillingdon!
Come and join us in a social setting as we share our liberal solutions to the challenges of Hillingdon's Residents.
We look forward to meeting members and supporters and anyone liberally minded !
Why? To promote our London Mayoral & GLA Candidate Caroline Pigeon and her team. As GLA members are not elected under a purely first past the post system, ever vote we get has value, and will help us get an extra GLA seat(s). Caroline has an excellent record on the GLA and in the news media.
Where? Outside Yiewsley Library at 11.30am or 1.30pm at Costa’s in Yiewsley High Street. Yiewsley Library is on the junction of Falling Lane and High Street (UB7 7BE)
When? Sunday 7th February 2016
What? We will be delivering leaflets in Yiewsley Ward (our target ward) from 11.30am to 1.30pm and/or 2.30 to 4pm. Between the sessions we hope to hear members views and discuss current issues over coffee at Costa’s (coffee on us, food on you) from 1.30pm.
Experience? None required. A great chance for new and established members to network and campaign together.
Who? How about you?
Our pre-conference meeting ahead of the party's Spring 2016 conference in York
We've booked a meeting room at Christ Church, Uxbridge from 10am and hope you will join us to explore the big issues on the agenda. (You can download it and read it here). As usual Tony Little will be chairing it for us and giving us all an opportunity to explore the issues and express views even if we can't all be there.
There's a little tea and coffee bar at Christ Church and it's very easy to find as it's just over the road from the tube and bus station.
Incidentally, did you know that ALL party members are entitled to register for and attend conference? You don't need to be an officially "delegate". Although it's a bit expensive (the party has to pay out a lot to rent the venue) but there are special rates for first time delegates. And there's a lot more than just the debates - fringe meetings, great campaign training, and social occasions to meet up with new and old friends. You can find out all about it here on the party web site and see special deals on accommodation and travel too.
Meet at the library at 11am and lets go out out campaigning! Then we'll stop for some lunch about 1am at Candy's Cafe on the High Street - and if we're feeling good we'll venture out for an afternoon session at 2.
Come and join in - it's fun and worthwhile when you see what we can achieve in just a few hours. As you can see from the picture, our last action day we spent delivering leaflets for Caroline Pidgeon's campaign.
(For info: The car park behind the library is free on Sundays.)
The Party’s Spring Conference in York consists of six policy motions, four policy consultations, speeches by leading Liberal Democrats, campaigning training and fringe meetings organised by a variety of party and lobby groups. Our pre-meeting gives us the chance to look at what's on the agenda and consider our views.
Chair Tony Little has written a briefing note which you can download here.
Full Texts of the motions can be found at:http://www.libdems.org.uk/spring-conference-2017-agenda
With the General Election only seven weeks away, Hillingdon Liberal Democrats are holding a meeting for all members, old and new to help us plan.
You will be able to meet the candidates and discuss what you can do to help locally and nationally in this election and beyond.
This is our one chance to stop a hard Brexit, so please come if you can.
Ruislip Northwood & Pinner candidate Alex Cunliffe was at the Ruislip Woods Festival on Sunday 14th May with his two children. Alex was delighted to meet you and listen to your views.
