Digitising Hillingdon

Hillingdon Council has been making its interactions with local people increasingly digital. This raises problems for older and less well-off residents who are least likely to have access to the computer and mobile telephone devices necessary for interacting with council services in this way. For cost reasons increasing digitisation is likely to accelerate. Alternative arrangement will still need to be guaranteed particularly for complex cases which are hard to capture by computerised form filling

  • Liberal Democrats will ensure that the council continues to provide for in person and telephone contact for all important services to residents
  • Liberal Democrats will ensure that community hubs such as libraries are equipped to provide both computer access to council services and signposting to human interaction with council services.
