HS2

HS2, as currently designed, is not how we would have chosen to invest such a large amount of public money. However, construction of the London–Birmingham line is now well advanced.

The Liberal Democrat priority is to ensure that the promised environmental mitigation and restoration for our borough are fully delivered.

This includes relocating the Hillingdon Outdoor Activity Centre (HOAC) — which closed in 2020 — to Broadwater Lake, while ensuring that the area’s Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) status remains protected.

Liberal Democrats will continue to hold those responsible for HS2 to account so that our community receives the restoration and safeguards that were promised.
